چکیده
Age stereotyping at the workplace can lead to discrimination. We investigated stereotype influence on recall. In who-said-what paradigm participants studied older and younger speakers making stereotypical counterstereotypical statements about their work, followed by memory tests for speakers. Statements were more likely attributed a speaker from same age category than other category, replicating earlier findings. Stereotypicality had no effect statement recognition but guess even though made equal numbers of (Experiments 1 3). When (Experiment 2) this bias was reduced less so actual proportion warranted. Speaker judgments also influenced prior stereotypes. conclude that used stereotypes supplement recall memory. Measures reduce should include procedures improve accuracy.
